Good food.
Better reach.

Data and Decision Intelligence for food banks and hunger relief organizations.

Discuss your next decision

You know how much food you moved.
Now see who you reached and how it made their lives better.

Distribution records, community feedback, service availability, and operating costs each tell part of the story. Commonportion connects them all so you can see who was reached, what changed, and where you made the biggest impacts.

Food distribution is a system. Time to make that system work for the people who need it.

For neighbors, food access means making the trip, finding a time that works, and feeling welcome when they arrive. We connect neighbors’ experiences with your data so your team can design programs and services that feed your community and keep people feeling human.

Is Commonportion software or consulting?

It is an ongoing consulting partnership. Maps, models, and decision briefs are working outputs we develop with your team. The illustrations show the kind of thinking and deliverables involved; they are not a software product you need to buy.

Can you support our Service Area Assessment?

We can help organize evidence about community need, service access and neighbor experience, then compare responses and develop a pilot plan. Use the current guidance from your Feeding America network for SAA and Operational Response Plan requirements. We are an independent consultancy; the quiz does not replace your assessment. The same approach can support pantries and other food insecurity organizations.

What data do we need to get started?

Start with what you have: service locations and hours, program records, distribution volumes, community feedback, and available operating costs. The first engagement identifies what is reliable and what needs to be clarified before making decisions.

What will the free assessment tell us?

It assesses your reported practices across access, data, decisions, implementation, and cost visibility. The report explains its scoring and gives practical priorities. It does not benchmark your organization against other food banks or measure actual impact.

Can you help us explain the investment to funders?

Yes. Financial analysis is tied to the distribution decision: cost-and-reach scenarios, assumptions, implementation resources, and the measures you plan to review. This gives your team material to inform a funder conversation.

How do the partnership tiers work?

Focus centers on one priority; Coordinate connects several programs or decisions; Embed adds an ongoing decision partner across your network. We agree on scope, cadence, deliverables, and pricing after understanding the work.

What happens in a findings review?

Use the 30-minute conversation to walk through your assessment, add context the quiz cannot capture, and discuss whether a scoped first engagement would help. You can book through Calendly and bring a printed or saved copy of your report.

Your assessment

Your report is calculated in this browser. When you click Receive report, your email address, optional name, quiz answers and any optional financial figures are sent securely to our server and to Resend to prepare and email your report. We do not save your answers or financial figures in our database. Resend processes the email contents and recipient details under its own retention policies. Your report request and marketing emails

When you click Receive report on the hosted site, you request your report and agree to receive future marketing emails from Common Portion Consultants. We store your name (if provided), email address, request time, and the wording, version and method of the notice shown when you submitted. We use these details for your report request and occasional email updates, food access insights and information about our consulting services. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing our Founder. Your quiz answers and financial figures are not included in the contact record.

We keep your contact details while your subscription is active and needed for that purpose. If you unsubscribe, request deletion, or we stop using the list, we remove your contact from active marketing. We may keep a minimal opt-out or consent record where needed to respect your choice or resolve a compliance issue. We do not sell or rent this information.

Hosting and other services

The hosted site uses OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare hosting and database services. Hosting providers may process technical request logs, and we use short-lived, hashed network identifiers to limit signup abuse. Resend provides delivery of requested assessment reports. We retain delivery status, request fingerprints and provider message identifiers for troubleshooting and duplicate prevention; records older than 30 days are removed when a later report is requested. Marketing campaigns are not automated. Booking a review opens Calendly, which handles the details you enter under its own privacy policy. Emailing our founder shares the message and information you choose to send.

Your choices and contact

You can ask to access, correct or delete your contact details, or withdraw marketing consent, by emailing our Founder. Future marketing emails will include an unsubscribe option. We will honor marketing opt-out requests within 10 business days. Unsubscribing does not affect access to the free assessment.
